Big Society

My experience of community"work" is non existent, so I may be blundering here, but I wonder whether  the debate about the Big Society is pre-framed. maybe we need to re-purpose our communities. This would require, of course (ha!) coordinated action across different community streams. These would include economic, social, psychological, justice, equity, skills, education, youth, tech, infrastructure and so on. I wonder if one possible answer to the reality of globalisation is to re-localise,…See More

Hi Peter & welcome to Our Society!

You can read a bit more about Our Society and what we hope to achieve by having a read of Our Purpose and our About Us page.

As a quick way to get the ball rolling, why not read our Getting Started info, and please take a moment to tell us a bit about yourself in the "Who are you?" thread. We really love to hear any ideas you have for how we can develop Our Society, which you can post on our uservoice page, as well as vote on ideas posted by others. It would also be really helpful if you could upload a profile picture - so much nicer to have a face to put to the name!

This network is constantly being developed so we'd very much appreciate any comments or suggestions that you have. I've set up aFeedback Forum for any ideas or problems that you encounter.

Thanks again for joining, please contact me if you have any problems, and do feel free to set up your own group or discussion - I'm happy to assist with either.

~ John
