24 hours of possibility at various

June 20, 2012 all day
On 20th June 2012, the longest day of the year and the day the UN Earth Summit in Rio begins, you’re invited to conduct your own real life experiment in living differently, in showing what's possible. Experiments could involve family, friends, work colleagues, fellow students or even people you’ve never met before. They could involve the whole town or they could be more personal.See More

For me, one of the primary tests of Rio+20 is whether it, or what follows, will enable all of us, active citizens and community groups to genuinely influence the futures of our own local communities. In the UK after the first Rio conference some 90+% of communities generated a Local Agenda 21, only for the government to then hand over the process to the burueaucrats who, with a few honorable exceptions, effectively killed it off as an opportunity for participation by active citizens and…See More

A brilliant idea and campaign.

Is there a way it can be posted to all the members of Our Society?

Looking forward to speaking to you re the social apps, redesigning communities and funding the process through the iSAs 4 Change.

PS couldn't upload the Radical Efficiency guide or my photo?

Thanks for the Welcome Phil. I am in Essex, so not far from you. I am also very interested in how communities can design their own solutions. I have attached the Radical Efficiency Guide from NESTA - haven't read the whole thing yet, but it extols the virtue of every community having their own Radical Efficiency Zone to redesign how society works.

I am working with a team of people to integrate this into Social Enterprise Zones and have developed a novel method by which this can become self funding called ISAs 4 Change.

Would love to meet up and swap notes and see if we can work together to see these visions come to pass.

Simon

Been trying to upload the doc all day and surprised to see it still trying hours later.
