Martin Gilbraith replied to Mark Parker's discussion Community organising vs Community development in the group 21st Century Community Organising
"Hi Mark, the charity I work with (ICA:UK) grew out of an international network that cut its teeth in community work in Chicago in the 1960s, so I recently initiated a dialogue on an email list populated by many former colleagues who were involved in…"

Hi Martin & welcome to Our Society!

You can read a bit more about Our Society and what we hope to achieve by having a read of Our Purpose and our About Us page.

This network is in the early stages of development so we'd very much appreciate any comments or suggestions that you have. I've set up a Feedback Forum for your comments.

We are running a launch & planning event in Leeds on Thursday 20th January, however all places are now taken. You can still contribute in our Co-design Group - in fact we'd really value your input.

As a quick way to get the ball rolling, why not read our Getting Started info, and please take a moment to tell us a bit about yourself in the "Who are you?" thread.

Thanks again for joining, please contact me if you have any problems, and do feel free to set up your own group or discussion - I'm happy to assist with either.

~ Sophie
