The Our Society Map of Inspiring projects
The idea of this map is to plot projects that you find inspiring or interesting so people can see what's happening in their area. Just add a placemarker (see instructions below if you don't know how to do this) and a short description, preferably with a link to more information.
Over time we aim to build this up to give people a picture of the depth and breadth of social action going on in our society.

Comment by Anton Schultz on February 11, 2011 at 10:23 Hi,
I want to point out another website related to this.
http://www.theplacestation.org.uk/
It is a map based website that plots underused land a buildings together with proposals and ideas for community projects. It seems to have much in common with what you are developing here in seeking to bring together people around ideas for community projects and has been up and running for a little while (although I believe it is still under development).

Comment by Lorna Prescott on January 27, 2011 at 16:29 Hi David and John
I'm involved in planning an event taking place on 24 March for people across the West Midlands who have been involved in Take Part activity - as learners on active citizenship courses, and/or as facilitators trained to use tools such as Voice and echo. We wanted to literally map all this, and create a way for people with common interests (e.g. work around gender, disablity, neighbourhoods...) to find each other. We've had a far too expensive quote to develop something which I think this Our Society map could do for us. I couldn't figure out how to use this map, despite the helpful video, so I'm keen to support tweaks which maike it easier to use, and in return I'll have a dedicated person at a computer at our event to put pins in places where our Take Part colleagues are up to inspiring Our Society related work. If I can assist in any (non-technical) way in any of this please let me know.
